OUCH! I will hurt my pocket book! As I probably plan on keeping the car once owned for about 150k or more miles (maybe no more that 200k) as my IS is at 140k now. thanks for the information AlexusAnja and BNR34. it really helps me and other wouldbe buyers to see what would fit there needs. I will probably lean more toward the Custom.

I dont think that I need to following:
1. Air suspension >> it would be nice to have especially driving long distance and have a lower center gravity and drag
2. Rear door sunshade >> i'll just buy the sunshade at babies r us. haha!
3. Mini fridge behind the middle seat >> i'll just use my portable coleman warmer/cooler
4. Rear audio control >> the driver should have full control as i also plan on puting two independent dvd/divx lcd players in the head rest as i already install 4 of them in my odyssey.
5. Reclining and massaging rear seats. >> I would like this to be on the driver side. how can i enjoy this if i am driving and its massaging someone behind me? hmm

On the LS. is the rear center/armrest contain a pass through? or does it have 75/25 rear seat folddown? I sure would like to fit my skis and or snowboard through during snow season.

If you're leaning towards Custom Luxury, then you will have the passthrough. It's right behind the center, pull-down arm rest. If you get Ultra, you lose that because the "fridge" is there. Another reason for you to lean towards Custom.

The LS did not have fold-down on the seats. Not a "luxury" item.

I only looked into '04 and '05 LS430's, but I'm pretty sure the base did not have heated seats up front either. Unless you got atleast a "Premium Package" which had the intuitive parking, heat/cool front, and heat rear seats, your butt was left to the elements...

I would imagine not too many base models were made. I saw a lot of Modern editions in the market, with UL being probably the least available.

oh man I am wrong again, thanks for pointing it out. I should never say all from now on, as there are always some base model early cars don't have certain features. Like how some very early SC430 don't have NAV!

Oh wow, I didn't know that. You always have these rare models stripped naked. I wish they would make it easier and sell just Fully loaded model like they do in the middle east. Either you get everything, or find another car. Only differences is interior/exterior colors. (however, they don't get air suspension or radar cruise)

While I do agreed it would make it easier for us people that want everything. But I understand not everyone want everything, like my parent for example, they don't want NAV for easier control of the HVAC and stereo.

You have a point there... sometimes i wish i didn't have nav myself... the controls are just so much easier, and no screen toggling.

Yeah having the stereo and HVAC control inside the screen is a hassle. While I understand Lexus's intention of cleaning up the dash by hiding buttons inside the screen. I prefer not having to toggle the screen.

The SC430 set up is perfect, NAV, stereo and HVAC all have their stand alone buttons!
