The CEO of Ford probably has more Toyota stock than Ford stock in his portfolio. He was very stupid to be seen driving a Lexus. If I were him I would be more concerned how my employees and stock holders felt about this image.
In the 1960's Henry Ford II rode around in a Lincoln limousine with the Ford coat of arms painted on the back doors. He must be spinning in his grave.
I am not defending domestic car makers. I am tired of their junk as well as the German cars; that is why I have switched to a Lexus.

Well, at least it's his own car; nobody can accuse him of exploiting the company's perk vehicles. As for the jet, although it looks bad, it is ironic and laughable that the networks are making such a fuss about it. I'm sure CNN, ABC, CBS & NBC's executives are cowering behind their desks hoping the glare and scrutiny of their own media doesn't suddenly turn towards them - talk about falling on one's own sword...
If this is so newsworthy, why weren't the shareholders saying anything about this over the last fifty years that this has been going on? Hindsight in hard times is an often overused and abused weapon against targets of opportunity. We don't see much being said about the trillions being wasted in non-winnable wars in foreign lands. If oil is really the motive for the US presence in Iraq, what are we doing there now? That's right, providing much needed security for paranoid sheikdoms whose grip on power is tenuous at best.
Oh yeah, the new LS (460/600) is a definite improvement of the previous generation. The 430 was so amazing, I almost bought one. Somebody beat me to the last one in the showroom, so my gaze turned instead to the 460. Cost me an extra $20K, but with the new drivetrain, and radically redesigned exterior (the interior is very similar, I find), the difference in cost was worth it.

Ford CEO Alan Mulally used to be head of Boeing Commerical Airplanes, at which time he drove an LS 430, saying it was the best-built car in the world...there were press reports that he was getting rid of it after he was hired at Ford...

And it's not even a 460, or a 04+ ls430, he's still rocking the 01-03 ls430 ALL RIGHT, but something makes me think its a UL model. O well, and regarding the jets thing, if they are going to get money, i guess they figure they should just get as much as possible and enjoy life doing it haha
