There is a small sensor that was connected to the brake pad. This sensor needs to be replaced because it works basically that once the outer material is worn and the metal contact touches the rotor, then it triggers the light. The sensor is about $50 each, so find out which was worn and replace. Once replaced, the light should go out automatically... I'm not sure. Might need reset somehow. Hopefully someone else can chime in...

You are correct AlexusAnja. The sensors are only there for emergency cases only so that you dont mess up anything major. You are really supposed to replace your brakes before they go out because the sensor is not reusable.
