Just wondering, has anyone used one of those tape/aux things? Does it put off a lot of static like the wireless fm transmitters? I am using an fm transmitter now and I am about to throw it out the window but don't want to spend a couple hundred on a vaistech just to play my mp3 player with some clarity.

i use a cassette adapter with my mp3 player.
it sounds very good IMO, it's kinda ghetto but sound quality is good.
try it you'll be surprised.

But the sound quality when using the cassette adapter with the ML is just as good as an iPOD.

i know Infiniti cars has in-dash cd changer looks like it would fit in the LS slot (just need to find a small changer that can replace the current changer which plays MP3). My cd changer in my mercedes e-class plays MP3, so that'll work also. Most newer cd changer small enough would work is my guess.

Not just great for MP3/Ipod players, but for anything with an audio output like a CD-man, portable DVD player, or 8-TRACK !!. Brings the LS430 back to the '70s when 8-track ruled !!!

I had the tape cassette and it did sound good but I upgraded it to the Vaistech SoundLinQ SLu . Big difference in quality and I love the OEM menu that is added to the touchscreen for you to switch the input channels. I upgraded due to the audio/video project that I'm working on .
