buggin out in the snow !!

This happened in front of my LS this morning in Coquitlam. Camry driver with FWD. A little black ice and around it spun. My car was fine, the people behind me looked like they were sliding a bit.
A Celica spun in front of me the exact same way earlier last week. Late last week a 4Runner hit some ice and plowed into the snow embankment on the right side of the road coming down a hill in front of me - he couldn't get his truck out either. In all cases my car was just fine and had no issues.

I do you know she spun out? Maybe granny there was trying to do donuts. Probably the most excitement she's had in a long time...
I wonder if the heavier front as anything to do with the rear end giving out easier and FWD vehicles spinning out on ice....

It's always the same around here. We both came out of a side street and turned left. She was going very slowly, but her momentum just spun the car around. The Celica in front of me the other day did the same thing, except that was a right turn.
In both of these cases the rear end broke loose which started the spin.

I have had FWD drive cars until I got my '04 LS430. A week ago, my neighbour's brand new Honda Accord could not gain enough traction to go up the inclined road. The snow was deep.
I have winter tires, put the car in SNOW mode, and I could not believe the traction I have. Nice and easy up the hill. Very impressed and happy with my set-up.
