Default Intro and LS430ul ??s

Hello everybody,

My name is Nathan I am from N.VA. I have been heavy in road racing and drifting for years. I just picked up an 03 LS430 UL for a nice street car. I love it!! I have a data controller on the way, then I cant wait to get rid of the stock wheels! A couple things I was wondering about the car,,

When you put your LS in reverse do the mirrors automaticly tilt down to see the wheels? I would think they would but mine dont. I think I might need a new switch or something, the passenger mirror wont adjust up or down with the switch and the driver only does sometimes. Anybody else have the same problem?

Also should this car have the automatic cranking ignition, (where you just bump the key and it continues cranking on its own untill the car starts)? Again I think it would but mine doesnt. Anybody? Thanks

If you leave the side selector switch in the right position, it will automatically tilt the mirrors down when you put in reverse.

Welcome to the Lexus family.

For the auto tilt, just leave off center and it will tilt down when you hit into reverse. It doesn't have to be just right, right or left will do.

As for cranking, I have the SmartAccess where you don't even need key to crank and I have to turn and hold until it cranks over. I've tried to just do the quick crank and nope on me.

Welcome to the LS430 family. As others responded, you have to have the mirror control switch off-center (either direction), then it will auto tilt.

On cranking, yes, what you experience is normal. That got me at first too. I think it is a Toyota thing since the limited Toyotas I have been in are that way (I am not 100% sure on that though)...

Have fun with your new purchase.

Yup on the mirror adjustments just move the switch to the "L" (left) or "R" (right)....as for the press start....it is 04+ that has the press start button.....

Ok, thanks. Yes with the mirror switch off center the driver mirror tilts down. The pass doesnt, but it doesnt tilt with the switch either, I will have to look into that maybe the motor is bad in the mirror.

I drove a 03 LX470 the other day and it had the auto crank, (with a normal key not a pushbutton. Some bmws and MB do it also were you just bump the key and the car cranks untill started). So I thought maybe my LS should as well but i guess not. Thanks

04+ ???? I didn't think the LS has push start until the current '07 model. I have SmartAccess and it's not a press button. Still crank the cranker to start.

my mirror thing does the same as you are saying. i have to rock it back and forth a few times to get my driver mirror to be able to adjust then rock it again and leave it in the right side only for the tilt function to work.
