Can you upgage a 2002 to Gen 5 Nav?
Bought a CD controller from VAIS Technology. No on screen info or steering wheel controls as the VAIS salesman told me. I called him back after install, and he told me my Ipod was too old.
I finally decided to replace Ipod - called VAIS to see if new Nano would work - he said it would, but it wouldn't charge. VAIS is coming out with an adapter this spring to allow Nano to charge. So, I bought a new Ipod instead.....now he tells me that the screen & steering controls only work with Gen 5 nav.
I am disappointed - maybe another system would have worked with my Gen.
So, can I update my Gen to Gen 5?

Maybe the Vais Ipod unit will work then
Maybe the onscreen & wheel controls will work with the Gen 4 upgrade.
Where would one buy the parts for this upgrade? Junk yard, Lexus dealers, online, etc?

Anyone know if the Vais tech iPod adapter will work wi. gen 4?
Will the Vais Tech iPod adapter work with Gen 4 - i.e steering wheel controls, display on screen, etc?

The Gen 5 on the newer LS460 have the "I Agree" screen disabled on versions 7.1 and above. Is this something that a newer version of the disk for Gen 4 can do also? If so, then I'll be willing to upgrade for $300 or so. Right now I have 4.1 and the manual "menu/volume/ up-down-up-down" thing works, but it's just a pain to do it when I need it.
