Default MP3 Player connection thru TAPE = BAD SOUND..HELP!

HI Folks,

I am loving my new 2003 LS430 with Nav and Levinson, but I must say that when I connect my mp3 player via a casette tape adapter (due to lack of aux port) I get NO SOUND from passenger door and rear speakers; only the driver speaker seems to work. When I switch to CD or radio all speakers work properly. Has anyone else noticed this? Any explanations?

The tape adapter and MP3 player is OK because I use it in my otehr cars. I had the ML speakers checked out by the dealer and they said there's nothing wrong. So why does only one work on TAPE mode?

Thanks!
Viper

What if you put a real cassette tape in the player - do all channels work??

There seems to be a problem with your tape adapter. i purchased one from the apple store (gray in color) forgot the brand, but it works 10X better then all the ones i've used before.

from my experience - i've tried about 6 different cassette adapters. No-name brands, Belkin, Monster, Phillips, Cody and some more. The best sounding one was Sony cpa 9c. Not the refurbished one, buy the one still in original packaging.

Hit reverse.
Changing direction of play makes a world of difference from barely hearing it through one speaker to cristal clear full CD quality sound.

Test how other tapes work just in cease before blaming Monster. If you can still find them that is.
You may want to try running a cleaning tape.
