Default Had no idea

Sojah, I had no idea about this. I imagine that once you buy the unit, all the speakers & replacement sub, plus labor...you're talking fairly expensive.

It would be interesting as to what the above project would cost. After I find out (if I do), I'll take my wife's advice & lie down on the couch until the feeling passes.

well mr. mafpolo i guess the price is all subjective. i have owned a set of $700 dollar 6.5's speakers that sounded like a 9.7 out of 10 (worth the price) and i have owned a set of $150 6.5's that sounded like a 8.8 out of 10 (also worth the price). These 2 different sets of speakers are probably at either end of the mid priced speaker level. Great sound quality came out of each so my feeling is that you could get the 'clean sweep' plus 2 sets of speakers (not sure the size exactly as i have not done any research, yet), a middle of the road amp + install and call it a day for like $1100, which would probably sound a little better than the ML setup. Or you could get 2 sets of higher end speakers, a nice amp, plus sub, + sub amp, + clean sweep, + install and you could be looking at anything from 2-3 thousand if not more depending on the quality level you went with.

My thinking is and has been for some time that if your going to spend money to upgrade something or improve it why not do it right and spend the money so that it is an actual big increase in quality or performance. So for me I would have to spend like at least another 2k just for my tastes to make it worth while on the ML replacement. So until i have an extra 2k laying around that i can't figure out what to do with i am happy with my added sub + amp in the trunk & stock ml system.
