cars.com has the pricing MUCH higher on average and AutoTrader.com is even worst (higher price average)?
I guess I point this out, because some said the price for the 2 I'm looking at is to high?
The ones I'm looking at are $27,500.00 and $29,990.00 and the same model, year LS 430 with as close to the same mileage on both of these sites, has the cars selling for $5,000.00 to $10,000.00 MORE (the KBB)?
Now these are dealers. If I search for private sale, then the pricing is much closer, only off by $1,500.00 to $4,500.00. In any case, not sure if any of these - cars.com, autotrader.com or KBB.com is any better then the other.

Wow. There's a 2006 LS 430 with 7,800 miles on it, that the woman is asking $49,500.00 for?
And there is one, pretty much a twin to the one I'm looking at, only it's a 2006 not 2005, and they want $43,995.00 for it. The 2005 fully loaded sure seems very reasonable priced to me?
If the one I'm looking at - is priced at $27,500.00 but it's a 2005, why the big difference in price? And why did some of you think I should try to get the price down?
I might try to get them to bring the price down, but if not, then $27,500.00 for a 2005 Ultra Luxury Package with 17,700 miles - seems like a fair price - or is there that big a difference between the 2005 and 2006?

Dealers and private sales are always about $8K apart or so, for comparable vehicles with CPO vehicles being even further apart. I haven't looked in cars.com or autotraders.com for a while now since I have my vehicle already, but maybe the market has turned for used cars.
I don't know... maybe some current shoppers, not those that have vehicles already, can chime in with some current market numbers.
As for what those people with super low miles wants ($43K???) is not going to be what they're gonna get.

Well, not sure if the market has turned around a bit, but there have been several news story commenting on how used car prices have started to go up, as most folks are looking at buying used instead of new. That's likely to change with all of the new deals being offered.
I've checked 20+ Lexus dealers on the East coast, and 8 or so, on the west coast, and the Lexus LS430's are holding their value very well.
West coast dealers are asking on average $2,500.00 more for a 430's with similar mileage and options, then East coast dealers, and that's reflected in private sales as well.
It does appear to be this model that's doing the best? Maybe because so many are coming off leases, and everyone wants one? Maybe it's because at $29,000.00 to $38,000.00 there about 1/3 as much as new ones?
It's also apparent that dealers in affluent area's are getting much more then those in less affluent areas.
And as expected, non Lexus dealers are asking less too. Now this may be because they don't have cars of this style, type or high re-sale numbers on the lot. This is very much on the high side for most Used Car Dealerships.

West coast and Florida vehicles usually go for more because of the better weather. No snow, ice, salt, and junk to mess up the vehicle's exterior. I saw a few west coast vehicles and they're definitely in better overall shape.
I read an article like that too, how the used market is picking up the slack of new in some sense because people are realizing there are some fine vehicles out there under $30K with low miles that they could not have otherwise afforded new.
For me, never could before and probably never will (or will to) buy a NEW LS vehicle. $80K to start and drop off the planet in four years in value... no thanks, I'll wait for the drop then swoop in like a vulture.

The question to ask yourself. Which one will sell the fastest, With or Without the GPS>.. All things being equal. It will be a much better car in the long run. You are buying a luxury car. Why would you skimp on the biggest luxury item you can put in the vehicle besides the name??
take a look at this one... This shows a luxury model http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...e&rdpage=thumb
