I have looked at the links and searched the site but so far I have only found information for 2005 and below. Can the 06 with ML play DVDs like the IS350 can?

No. The generation in the IS350 is a newer version than the one found in the LS430. With the standard ML audio with Nav in any LS430 you can't play video.

You can of course go aftermarket if you want to add a video input to your ML with Nav.
