Default trunk and fuel release

I have replaced several cabin bulbs and would like to know if the lower dash drivers side is supposed to be illuminated. ( where the trunk lock out button is)

If so, how do you access the bulb?

Thanks,
AG Toronto

Are you changing them out to a different color or b/c they were blown?

I just went to garage to check and unless my bulbs are blown, there is NO light on the buttons. From the position of the buttons, unless there is a spot light on there, illuminated buttons would not help much as the unit if in a "blind spot" and you're pretty much pulling the buttons by touch. I never really look when filling up or opening the trunk, I just know right is trunk, left is filler.

The trunk and gas door release switches have a spot light - each of them.

Upon further inspection, you are correct.
Each one has a tiny slot of light at the top which is very weakly lit when the lights are on. Pretty much has to be pitch dark to see it, and that is with my practically new 05 CL with 11,000 miles on it.

You serious, or joking because I said it would need a spot light? I was in the garage and it's pretty dark but not pitch dark, and I looked under and didn't see any "lighting." Darn... maybe my light is blown.

I didn't think I had lights there either. When I turned on my headlights, a tiny light slot appeared at the top of each lever.

I have no idea the trunk & gas levers had lights shinning on them until now, and how to get to them is beyond me. I was asking about the other cabin lights you changed.

Funny thing happen, my lights over the gas & trunk buttons/tabs are now on. I thought they were burned out (no big deal), hmmmm...maybe when it was in for oil change my tech did something.
