hmm funny thing just happened while coming home today .. just noticed when i was about to press my rear sunshade that only 1 side was coming up and the other side stayed down. Got me worried so i pulled over and decided to see what it was. Then i pressed it again while just pulling the other side and both arms ended up coming up but when i pressed the sunshade to go down.. the cloth part was not retracting. any idea why this is happening? the motor works for the arms.. but the cloth part is not going ? any ideas?

I'm having the same problem on my '05 LS 430... did you ever fix the problem?

yeah it was fixed. just ended up getting the shade back on track by pulling it back abit and then it somehow went back on track and it started working again. The motor still worked, but for some reason it the shade part wasnt rolling down. it wasnt the motor....

So just pull it up a bit with it in its up position. Ill go try that now.
