Hate to dig up an old thread, but a story to share with you all to make you feel a little better.
A friend of my old mans, is very pedantic about his cars, and had just purchased a 300C (when they were first released in Aus) so decided to park well and truly away for every other car in the parking lot. Well he comes out from his few hours shopping and there is a riced up 180sx painted pink parked next to his car of course. Well he checks over his car and you guessed it, the person had opened the door straight into his passenger side leaving a nice dent. No notes left on his car so he waits around.
After waiting 2 hours in his car for the person to come back to their car, he confronts the *bombshell* blonde who owns it about it, and she just shrugs it off saying its only a car and starts her car with the intention of leaving.
Well being the alpha male he is, still in his steelcapped work boots, he gives her car two nice kicks, one to the drivers door, one to the front quarter panel, leaving some very hefty dents for her to sort out.
He says thanks for small scuffs on my door have a nice day and drives away with a smile on his face.
Revenge is sweet.

^^^ Gold. Pure gold.
I had to slap one of my mates in the back of the head the other day when we pulled in for lunch in a mall parking lot.
I picked the spot on the end well away from everyone and got close to the guard rail on the left. Realising I would then have to back out again to let me mate out,I put the car back in reverse and started to tell him I was going to move and let him out, when he jumps the gun and opens the door - hard into the guardrail. Luckily the plastic trim took the hit and there's no paint damage.
If there had of been he'd have been getting a whole lot more than a smack upside the head...

Lol I'm sorry (and laught at bfg's story) to hear these. I don't really think my car's gotten much worse since I got it. When I go to a mall or crowded place, I do far end too but take up 2 spaces against a wall or curb so no jackasses will have a chance to park next to me.
I really don't understand why people park far away and then park right next to you. If I see another car far away I always park at least 1 or 2 spaces from him/her for courtesy. Those who feel the need to ruin someone else's expensive cars must have such low self esteem and play such an insignificant role in society...so sad.

Man, I learned years ago to NEVER take up two spaces no matter how far away you park. Some vigilante parking police will leave a note, scratch your vehicle, or try to block you out of spite. I used to do this when taking my wife out in my truck and finding no handicap spaces. I'd park out in the back 40, put up the handicap hanger, and take up two spaces so I could open the door fully and get the wheelchair beside the truck. More often than not, someone would take offense to it.

I've made a discovery about people who park close to you for no apparent reason. It's invariably women WHO ARE USING YOUR CAR AS A DOOR STOP!!!
I made the discovery in a hospital parking lot when the proverbial little old lady parked about 18 inches from my car hopped out hitting my car a good whack. She hadn't seen I was sitting there so I jumped out and started yelling at her, she started crying (I did feel bad at that point) and said she just couldn't handle the door in a wind!! She had to use someone's multi-thousand dollar property as a facking door stop so her door wouldn't blow open.

That's a pet hate of mine and I've given people a serve on more than one occasion when I've seen them take those spaces when they're not entitled to them.
I saw red the other week in the RTA (DMV to you guys). It was pretty busy and there weren't any chairs free. I was standing next to a row of chairs where a guy in his late thirites was sitting on the floor next to one that was empty, leaning on the armrest playing with his 4 or 5 yr old son while they waited to be served.
An elderly gent came in and asked if he could have the seat,as he was not well. I could see his hand shaking and he was quite pale.
The guy said no,as he was keeping the seat for his son!
Another lady jumped up immediately and gave the old man her spot thankfully.
The old man sat down and was thankful. The guy who'd said no just shrugged and went on playing with his kid. I lost it,went over and gave the guy an earful, and another man off to my left did the same after I opened up.
He shrank down to be about an inch big by the end of it,but still didn't move.
When I was called up to the counter I told the staff about it. They asked me to point out who the guy was,and when I did they said that when his turn came up they'd tell him that he had the wrong ticket and would have to get back in the queue - for another hour or so.

haha........well you guys are just not parking far enough
To avoid damage to my car, I park it so far away that no sane person would park there for any reason........most of the time they can't even see where I parked
Like for example I park at the lot across the street from the lot most people think is already REALLY far away. Or back of the building, side street a few blocks away......etc. I am talking about 1/4-1/2 mile away.
Is ok, walking is good for you
I lived in Hong Kong for 13 years, where you have to walk a few miles to get to where you are going after I get off the subway, so walking 1/2 mile is nothing.
My only concern is security, since I truely park far away, it is usually in very isolated area. So safety is a concern. My car would stay perfect but I could get car jack....LOL
So all you guys that still have problem with people parking next to you, you simply not parking far enough away. American are so lazy, if you park 1/2 mile away from the mall, those lazy A-holes won't even go there

That's true Jeff. Americans are so lazy and that's why everybody is obese in this country.

Everytime I go to Asia, I lose weight instantly after 2 days of being there from all the walking!
