Used Prices LS430 down LS460 up?
I test drove an 07 LS460 this weekend with 42k miles. It was $52K and I was offered $25k (later upped to $28.5k) for my cherry 06 LS430UL with 41K miles and still under warranty. (KBB says my trade-in value is at least $30K and Retail $38k)
According to the sales manager in the last few months the bottom has fallen out of the LS430 market. He says the used LS460 is in demand and have been selling they become available.
I have been noticing that some LS430's have been hanging around the local lots and LS460's when they appear are not lasting long. Is this the beginning of a "shift" in the Market? If so, patience for all those looking for a cherry LS430 that has been taken in trade for a LS460.
Anyone else hear anything like this or is the Sales Manager just giving me the business so he gets a better deal, i.e. less for my car and more for his?
If anyone has been looking for a05 LS430UL Blk/Tan with 47K miles there is one in ATL that this sales manager says "he has a load of money in and is certified". He's marked it down from $33.9k to $30.9k and may go lower.

older body style equals less money.
personally, with the LS460 breathing down it's neck, I wouldn't pay more than 25K for any ucf30-31 in any year range.
at the 30k+ range, you can get a mint sexual beast called the benz CLS 2006+

Sorry, but the 2007 LS460 even though it is a great car has a few bugs to be worked out in order to get to the 01-06 LS430 level. Things like wind noise from the side mirrors and fuel rail replacement have surfaced and it is any wonder what lies down the road. Driving my tried and true LS430 will satisfy me for now and keep me from buying an early 07-09 ls460 any time soon.
As far as your benz CLS 2006+ good luck on the maintenance costs. Hope you don't need to take out a second mortgage.

it's called a "factory warranty" , and there are some with extended CPO warranty.
give me 1 year factory / cpo warranty and I'll gladly take my chances with the exciting sexual CLS.

Ok, just started this thread to help some of the guys out there that are shopping around for the best deal save some hard earned cash.
Don't know what that has to do with your exciting sexual cls but thanks for commenting.
By the way is your name ref to USMC?

BlackUltra, you're that "old" dude that recently got the LS430 down in Georgia right? You're looking to off load it already? I wouldn't trade my LS430 for a LS460, maybe the next LS500 or something, but not this current generation LS. Just looks like a bloated ES up front and a bad Camry (which is already bad) out back. Again, MHO.

Excellent point
Just too many sacrafices on interior and exterior with the 460 that turns me off. Besides of course the higher price point at this time... ha ha.
Hey, if 460 demand are going up, causing 430 prices to fall, then that just means better deals for those that really want the 430, which is probably the best overall LS thus far.

LOL Sure isn't that exciting to me, and certainly not sexual, looks wise or performance wise. My wife likes MB's so I've driven the CLS 55 and the CLS 550 on occasions, thinking of possibly getting one. Just aren't that special, IMO. Of course they're more money, but I'd take an S550 with the sport package any day over a CLS -- the S550 Sport is one MB I might be willing to give another chance after swearing off MB's due to unreliability. The '07 with Sport Package is the most impressive luxury car I've ever driven, hands down. And that includes the 460L.
RE: 460's they seem to be starting in the mid 40's now, which is a continuation of the gradual drop that I've been seeing for the past 4 months or more. Also, the mid/upper 40's is about where the '07 S550's start now too, but that means they've depreciated about $50-55K already!
