WOW!
talk about your thread hijacks!
Anyway, I am pleased to report that the Sylvania 7440, available at any Advance Auto, is a perfect fit, and is the actual number of the bulb I removed. Access is just as reported here,,, I did have to kinda distort the plastic housing, but no sweat. New bulb popped right in (and old one was obviously burned out). Crazy the bulb monitor system does not monitor the high mounted brake light.
Now... does anyone have a comment on the tire pressure monitor question originally posted?

For the tire monitor, if it went off... then all is good. No need to worry about it.

i had an issue with the low tire indicator for a while...
- rotated tires
- low tire indicator came on
- "reset" the switch and "low tire" went out
- drove a couple of days
- low tire indicator came on again

- "reset" the switch and "low tire" went out
- drove a couple of days
- low tire indicator came on again
- finally read the manual again and was instructed to press and hold the switch until the "initialization" indicator came on (probably around 10 secs or so?)
- haven't had the low tire indicator come on since...
oh and yes, i did check the tire pressure throughout...
