Default data controller wiring, help please

im looking to pick up a data controller from another member for my 01 ls430. the controllers coming out of the same car. the concern is when the controller was removed, the seller gave me a heads up about 2 wires that arent hooked up. he says that it was fully functional when it was installed in his car.
wires not hooked up:
gray wire with dots
yellow wire with 2 dots

can anyone shed some light on this? perhaps if someone knows where i can get an online copy of the wiring diagram, that would be of great help. thanks in advance.

good luck, i forsee not a lot of answers to this question. your best bet since you are in HI is to find a japanese person who is knowledgeable about this and ask them. or if you can read japanese then try searching on some japanese pages. i doubt you will find much in english.

Are Lexus-published shop manuals available for purchase? Even though I'm pretty useless as a mechanic (and have little patience with myself), I find the shop manuals very useful for problem diagnosis.

Caddyowner, yes they are available. You can join places online to read them, buy bootleg PDF scans on ebay or get the real book (expensive).

What the members above are talking about however is wiring for an aftermarket item that changes the ride height using the OEM air suspension on Ultra-equipped LS430s.

I would guess the original seller did not hook up the speed sensor wires. Other member also have not hook these wires up with no detrimental effects. However, I don't recall what color wires those where , I can scan my 04+ version but don't know if that will help you as the wiring could be different for the controller.

did the speed sensor plug in under the steering wheel or under the glove box??

this is probably the most likely scenario ^ ^ ^ but on the 04-06 there is just one speed censor wire/plug not 2 wires, as i recall.

By your images above, you have the 4 plugs (3 for controller, 1 for speed sensor). I really don't know now what those wires you show.

Here is my original thread on the install. For your 01, no need to pull glove box as its on the same side. https://www.clublexus.com/forums/ls4...-with-pix.html

Thanks for the clarification.

BTW, I think those wires control the optional proton packs. Don't cross the streams.

its because its japanese if you search google.jp you will find lots and lots of info but since you probably can't read japanese it probably won't help you out much. there are about a total of 5 english web sites that have any knowledge about it at all and about 3 of them are in this CL site. like i said good luck.. (not being mean just being honest)

Thanks for your honesty. I know a few people that can read and speak japanese, that's why I
Asked for the instructions. And don't worry, I didn't take it as being mean at all

et025- I did quick search over Yahoo Japan as well as the DataSystem's website but did not come up with anything. There are 2 Japanese sites that I always go to where I can find almost everything about Japanese cars and aftermarket products but did not come up with the specific info you are looking for. I sent an email (in Japanese) to DataSystem and hopefully they can provide some info. The worst case (if they don't share the info), I will compare my controller to yours or call DataSystem directly. I'll keep you posted.

i went to the datasystems site and was unable to contact them via email. im guessing it has to be a language thing. worst cast would be having to buy a new harness. but hey i appreciate the help.
