a local acquaintance of mine was having air susp issues on his cl benz and went with some warranty place, so if i run into him again i'll be sure to ask him if it was indeed covered like he was hoping and what the name was.

The Lexus Factory Extended Warranty (Platinum, etc) should cover the struts, as it covers almost all things mechanical, except wear and tear items. Suspension isn't a wear and tear item, so it should be in. Just call your local dealer to confirm. I've already had my 05 front struts replaced (non-air) under the Platinum warranty.

If your car is out of the original warranty period then you'll need to look for an aftermarket warranty. What they cover differs from policy to policy - you'll just need to read all the fine print closely, and research the company on the web to see if they tend to pay out, or tend to have problems for those lodging claims.

Either way, you're going to need to make some calls.

Can someone advise on this situation?

My 05 LS has 49,000 miles on it.

Am I eligible to buy a warranty from Lexus right now?
Do I have to buy one from Lexus before I turn 50,000 miles?
Or am I not eligible at all from Lexus, and need to buy aftermarket?

as long as your within the original 4yr/50k warranty, you can add the lexus extended warranty... here are some contacts that i pulled from previous threads...

Troy Greenfield - Toyota of Greenfield. Ph: 413 772 0989
Toby Rivers - Lexus of Shreveport. Ph: 800-335-3987
Wadette Bradford - Lexus of Huntsville. Ph: 256-824-8000

they offer extended factory warranties from lexus financial at a much lower price...

good luck.
