Default Newb question - my apologies in advance

I just bought a 2002 LS, and I just got it registered at DMV and received my new plates. I stopped by the local Honda dealership where my wife get's her Odyssey worked on, and I got some license plate screws to attach them to the frame and then the car. Turns out the screws are a bit too wide diameter wise, I thought it would have universal.

Anyone know the specific size screw/bolt I should buy - and is this something I should just got to Home Depot and buy instead?

Thanks!

The size and style of bolt/screw that secures the license plate does vary from vehicle to vehicle. If you're talking about the rear plate on the LS, it is a metric machine thread, but I've never checked the size. You might be better off looking for the item at a good hardware store with a broader selection of fasteners than Home Depot -- and they'd be more likely to have it in stainless steel, and with an allen head or some less pedestrian looking head if you are interested.
