what is the difference between Gen2/3 compare with Gen 4/5? I have an 02, with the Gen 2/3, Will the Map look difference, or the 4/5 has more functions? Was it worthy to upgrade my Disc player from 2/3 to 4/5?

Yes, backup copies does work. As long as you know how to create the image and burn correctly.
