Check to see what dollar value your county tax office has assigned to your car. If that is a greater amount than you are offered by the insurance company, and is an acceptable amount to you, hold out for that.

Check your state law first.
I think this is what I have for coverages. I don't know if they are going to pay me more or not?

Default Glad to hear everyone is alright.

Looks like the car held up very well. Thankfully the Pontiac was not going very fast. This could have been much worse.

I am sure the insurance company will treat you well. Remember though, they normally will not compensate you for an additional modifications you made, including rims unless you notified them of them in advance.

True. What I was getting at was his family making claim under those portions of the policy.....getting the insurance company to try to get a favorable phy dam settlement before they decided to hit the other parts of the policy.

I am not trying to hijack the thread but you might want to consider having higher BI and PD limits. Say $300,000 Combined Single Limit for BI and PD.

I does not cost all that much more but will do a much better job of protecting your assets if you get into an accident you cause.

Your insurance co. will not treat you well. They are a 'for profit' company. You should make sure that there are no lingering injuries to your wife and mother. And like the dude said earlier, Get a lawyer. GL....

Your coverage is not that great, but I see your state does offer uninsured property damage, with 15000 max limit and 250 deductible.
You will get whatever ins company value your car at - deductible.
as getting an attorney, they will go after your uninsured bodily injury, they can get max 40K out of your policy since you had 2 persons in your vehicle, hopefully you can get some money. They CAN sue the other party, but since their insurance cov was cancelled, most likely they don't have any money for you to sue.

O.K. I have a good news...

I just called them today, and they got the ACT (Actual Cash Value) of my car. They said its totaled and they will pay me $19,130 and they got it from NADA Business NOT consumer.
Also, they will pay whatever the tax is + new title and ducumentation fees

$20k for a 2001 with 95k miles?

That is a nice settlement. Hopefully they get the check to you soon and you can move on.

now its the time to find 04 LS430 UL, who can help me find one?

the market now, especially LS430, is way too high. I am looking cars.com, autotrader, ebay, I couldn't find. the problem is I live in a small town that does have a very few dealers that they don't even to bring LS430 to their lots.

I have to go to Chicago or St. Louis on the 19th to look around...
