Glad to hear that your family is okay! 
Also, I'd be sure that they have RECOVERED before signing away any right for residual medical coverage. Sometimes whiplash victims and the like get allllllmost over it, only to have lingering problems resurface.
It's immaterial, but IMO there's no way that Pontiac was going 65 MPH at impact. 65 MPH ramming a parked car would be a heck of a lot worse than those results for both cars. It's immaterial, just a comment...
