that would be awesome!
What are you going to do about suspension for this boat???
haven't seen any post about it. Here's tturbopimp doing it for his 2000 GS400 though, not a 3 uz.
I wonder if lextreme have done it?

Sounds like a very challenging project.... you will have to think about what you will be using to tune this thing... will the transmission hold the power? the rear end? and things as such. Reading up on these motors, you are better off buying a high mileage 1uz and building it and drop it when all is done as opposed to building the 3uz. Plus the 1uz block will withstand more forced induction as opposed to 3uz....just my 2 cents..

Turning up the wick on our generation of LS requires that you beef up the stock internals which will take a "bolt on project" up into the turf of a "Full Build."
If you check out Tom's of Japan, the supercharger kit they sell as a bolt on upgrade, requires the addition of 8 Connecting rods from previous gen motor. http://www.tomsracing.co.jp/onlineshop.html Last time I checked cracking open the engine and replacing internals is a far cry from bolt on.
In the past Toyota over engineered their equipment. (Perfect e.g. would be 2JZGTE engine....WAY over engineered, or "under delivered" depending on your perspective.) -- It would seem moving forward they are "engineering to application" and calling it a day.
If you do it, do it right. Which will mean full internals, stand alone fuel management, and more than likely reducing the driveability of your LS not to mention a helluva build budget and lotta down time.
I entertained the Tom's kit for my '04 LS but ended up getting a '98 Supra TT for a H.P. fix/project car, and kept my daily driver what it is for me... a nice clean smooth ride with plenty of power for gettin' groceries.

If i was gonna do something like this i would go with this
http://www.rhdjapan.com/home/link/Trust-Greddy
http://www.rhdjapan.com/jdm/Trust-Gr...1-UZS186-61179
And it looks a lot cheaper than Walds kit.

It's impossible to say whether or not $16K is too much for the project without knowing what you would be getting for the money. It could be a bargain, a rip-off, or anything in between, depending upon the details.
