Spacers, hubcentric extenction rings and tires questions.

Hello guys.
First things first: I own a 2001 LS 430 UL in Millenium Silver on 18" L Tuned Salinas sized 245/45R18 front and 275/40R18 rear.
Recently I changed the rear tires from General UHP to Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus because they were pretty much done. Now I'm getting ready to change the front ones, but from the first day when I got the car it had vibration from 50 to 70 that I still cannot get rid of. Because I have spacers in the front and rims are sitting on the studs only I thought of getting the hubcentric extenction rings. I'm predicting that I can kill two birds with one stone (vibration and securing rim ona hub). I went online and wow there are so many different ones. Can you guys recommend which ones are better?
Another advice I am asking for is which size profile should I put in the front? Should I go for the 45, but it looks fat comparing to rear tires; or go with the same as in rear 40? What coud be the caveats of putting 40 in the front?
P.S. also wanted to ask about chip tuning for LS (google didn't help). Are there chips for our cars and how much are they?

Re: the tires, I'd go with 45 fronts for a match -- 275/40 and 245/45 are a match in height -- 245/40 are shorter than 275/40. Plus, with 18"s, the shorter sidewalls of a 245/40 would make the tire too short overall.
I'm not a fan of hubcentric rings for mounting wheels to hubs (they are *not* necessary) but in your case with spacers, I'd probably go with hub- and wheel-centric spacers if I could since you want/need spacers as well. There was some discussion on here a few months ago where someone posted a link and photos of some hub and wheel-centric spacers. You might search to see if you can locate that thread.

I'm believe Ichiba and Kics are really popular with the local here but recommend to contact a vendor if have more questions. As for tire, I'm prefer the fat setup to keep the smoothness and quiteness of the LS. Thumb up on the tire choice, can't go wrong with Michelin. No clue about chip for LS but why you want a chip LS anyway? If power hungry then go for supercharge or turbo, gonna cost an arm/leg and one *********

Thanks for the info. I will go for the 45 in the front. I do need spacers unfortunately, I tried taking them off and tthe caliper scrapes the inside of the rim
I will definetly search the thread that you mentioned.

Thanx for the reply. I will go for the 45 in the front. These Michelins are great, the car is glued to the road
but it costs an arm and a leg (without a ********
) $600 for two tires, road hazard program, 2 day shipping and intallation.
Actually I want a better throttle responce and faster dowshift times. Can it be done without a chip?

IMO, that is about the only significant thing that the '04+ LS has over the '01-'03 (unless the facelift is really significant to you). In "PWR" mode, the '04+ transmission is significantly more responsive and sporty feeling. I understand that there's a valve body modification that some of the GS430 guys have done to improve transmission performance. If that's true, it might be worth looking into. I often intended to check it out further but never did.
