Dealer-applied floormat 'protector' left mats sticky
I bought my LS430 from Ace Imports in Dallas and they left clear plastic sheets on the floor mats which said 'Dealer Must Remove' on them along with Lexus etc. At first I thought this was cool but once I removed them I found they left a bit of glue on the carpet and now my driver's side mat is turning black. Any tips on shampooing them? I will ask Sterling McCall about it when I go next Wed to get a new Smartkey but if they want $$ like I expect its probably cheaper to buy a whole new set for $86 + shipping online right?
Any suggestions for online parts vendors? I have seen Sewell's site (my car was originally leased from them) and Lexus Parts World.
Also, can our a-pillars be shampoo'd? There are a few dirt smudges I could do without.

I like Costco mats, they cost about $22 for the ENTIRE set and instead of cleaning them I just buy new ones over and over, just saying. I used them in my 2005 SL500 I sold recently, they get the job done.

At my dealer, they will shampoo your carpets and clean the floormats for $90 (cleaning job is excellent; removes oil stains from the carpet/mats, leaving them looking like new). I think they also clean the headliner. I had ballpoint pen marks removed from my suede headliner, so it can be done.

I'll be interested to see if you can get new mats from Lexus right now, even from Sewell.
I was in for regular service yesterday and planned to buy a set of winter mats. The wall in the service area that usually displays the mats is bare. I asked and was advised that you can't buy mats at all right now, and all stock has been removed from sale. I'm sure you can guess why that is, even thought it's not LS430 related at all.
