Default Are these genuine OEM wheels for 04 LS430?

I bought a one owner 2004 LS430 with 38K miles, originally from Salt Lake City. Had these perfectly beautiful chrome wheels, two of which began leaking air slowly last year from chrome corrosion at bead seat probably from road salts. I replaced them with same style used factory chromes, but I noticed that the original ones on my car did NOT have "Toyota / made in Japan" stamped but instead had " F.R. Made in USA" (unusual to see wheels made here) and a couple of cryptic serial numbers stamped (see pics) on inside. They seem to be good quality solid and strong (except for plating). Incidentally, the spare is a silver painted alloy, same style, Toyota brand. Anyone recognize the manufacturer? Thanks.

Those certainly are not OEM wheels. First of all, I think the '04's came with 7-spoke wheels. Second, all OEM toyota/honda alloy wheels have a logo on the outside of the wheel (looks like a few letters but I notice the are the same for my LX, LS, and honda prelude), which leads me to conclude they are made by the same manufacturer. Third, my LS ultra came w/ OEM factory chromed wheels, and the spare is also chromed and has the original Dunlop tire on it.

The "L" in the center cap looks unusual to me..but difficult to judge accurately via just pictures online.

Default Not OEM.

I have the 5 spoke chrome wheels from the Euro tuned sport package, and they are all stamped Made in Japan, and Toyota. Even the non-chrome spare five spoke had the same markings as the chrome ones.

All LS430's were made in Japan, non in the US. The center cap is also a knock off. They are good looking replicas though.

Those are aftermarket for sure. The '04 did come with six spokes like what you have, but I don't think Lexus OEM chromed that particular rim. As for the center cap, that is definitely not Lexus OEM, it's not the Lexus logo but some "L" shaped cap.

RANT ON:

When I purchased my 2001 ls430ul I opted for the upgrade to 17" chrome wheels.

One of the center caps brackets that hold it on broke off so I went to the dealer for a replacement and to my dismay, was told the wheels are also after market and could not buy a new cap.

Like yours, the chrome was peeling and tires losing air. I know I need a new set of wheels(or repair) but still....

I am going to the dealer management and complain about this "off-brand" wheel situation. I just think it is improper to sell something like that on a new vehicle of this quality, at least without telling the buyer.

x2. That is not the lexus logo; the L on your wheel is more slanted than it should, the top of the L should not touch the encompassing oval.

I purchased this vehicle new right off the showroom floor.

Total of five so far from the same dealer, from 1992 sc400 to 2008 ls460.

And I agree with buyer beware/due diligence on used/cpo, but not new.

Nor are they required to provide two master keys; they are only required to provide two keys (as I found out the hard way when I bought my LX...we were dismayed that we had to shell out another $250 after already paying nearly $50K ). When I bought the LS, first thing I checked was that it had two master keys and made the salesman try both out on the vehicle.

Alan---that is NUTS! Your brand new LS was sold to you with aftermarket rims and centercaps?!? That is CRAZY! I wonder what the window sticker had listed for the tires/rims? Do you still have the window sticker by chance?!
