Default AFS Poll & Thoughts

After posting in a thread about the the 04-06 AFS (Adaptive Front-lighting System) and how the one of the 4 sensors can go bad. I was wondering how many of you guys use the system, even tho it is rare that this happens it is not cheap to replaced them if one should go bad.

Front Sensor Part#: (89406-50080) $373.02
Rear Sensor Part#: (89408-50060) $391.66

So I thought why not make a poll and gather some thoughts on the system as a whole.

What is the rear sensor? I always have it one, because I hate "warning" lights of any sort on the dash.

I find the AFS really lights the road around corners when the road has no street lights. I think it works fine.

I believe the front and rear sensors are for the vertical adjustment of the lights. Example--on hilly roads

They are OK, but I can live without it.

in practice, it does help light up the road in front of you when turning, but it is distracting to see the beams of light moving and adjusting. I'm considering turning it off due to that fact.

AFS doesn't serve it's purpose on city streets. Where you see it most in action is around hilly roads and twisty backroads with no road lights. I've driven through the mountains a few times in the total dark and the AFS works real well around corners. It lights much better in same area than my RX300, which I thought had good lights to begin with.
