GPS dimming

My GPS stopped switching to night mode when it gets dark outside and I cant figure out a way to even make it manual to change or anything. Does anyone know why this could be happening or how to fix it. I have a 2001 430

Don't turn the dimmer **** all the way up. Turn it all the way to the right (brightest), then turn it to the left a little bit until it clicks.

Oh yea, thanks alot i forgot that happens, i changed it last during the day haha
