I have been combing the forum and I think VSC 39 is a left rear speed sensor. Can't find anything on VSC 51. Went to Autozone and their diagnostic reader gave code P1354 which may be "VVT system malfunction Bank 2" which is no help. Would like to do the repair myself but need to feel confident which parts are bad. Anyone know what VSC 39 and 51 mean for a 2001 LS430??

When the system throws a Code it automatically disables the VSC if it is emissions or safety related.
Personally, I don't understand why you would disable a safety system for an emissions issue.
VSC39 is P0155 (left-rear speed sensor) and VSC51 is P0051 which is Bank2 Sensor1 O2 sensor heater defective.
Both of these will be fixed by investigating/replacing the relevant part.
