Default what belts are there?

other than the timing belt, what other belts are there under the hood?

i'm getting a squealing/squeaking noise from under the hood and i was told it's probably the serpentine belt and it'll be $170 to replace at the dealer...

so what else could be making the squealing noise in there?

i was also told it's not covered under my 7/100 platinum ext warranty... i've only got 56k on the clock...

thanks.

when i bought my car (05 UL) it was still under factory warranty for all of about a month and i was able to get my squeaky drive belt replaced for free. it was about 250$ i believe but obviously they did this for me under warranty for free. i am not sure if the drive belt and serpentine belt are one in the same.

btw this fixed the squeak completely.

Check the price to replace it at your local toyota dealer...probably a lot cheaper.

I had my serpentine belt replaced last March or April - 03 LS (38K miles). The belt was squeaking / squealing at start up and would go away after it warmed up. We had just purchased the car a month or so earlier and dealer "helped" with the cost. Think I paid for the belt and they paid the labor - my cost was about $60. Squeal went away......

Yeah I had the squealing noise on startup as well and my car only had 13K miles on it when I bought it. Turns out it was the drive belt aka serpentine belt. The Lexus dealer charged me $150 with all taxes included. Now I have no noise.
