The wipers make no noise on low speed but when they switch to hi there is a banging sound at about the middle of the windshield when they go all the way down. I just checked and the drivers wiper is actually hitting the rubber windshield seal. There seems to be a lot of slack in the blades and drive mechanism. Is there an adjustment to the arms that will change the range of motion or a bushing that wears causing the slack and an increase in sweep?

Your wipers are prolly too long. I think driver side should be 19in. and the pass side 16in. i had the same issue when i got some aftermarket wipers that were of wrong size.

Mine are 24" on the drivers side and 16" on the passenger side. That's what I found on-line also.

Well the noise is actually coming from the drivers wiper pivot hitting the passenger arm on full down stroke. The paint is worn off of the drivers side wiper pivot, that section that the two drivers side arms attach. Maybe it needs to be adjusted up a bit.
