Default Rear Sunshade Question

I have a 04 LS430 ML I believe. I like to drive with the rear sunshade up but don't really like when it comes down automatically when I put it in reverse. Is there any way to turn off the option of having the rear sunshade go down when in reverse?

Thanks!

Unfortunately, no direct way. Unless you want to do some rewiring.

Any LS430 offers manual rear sunshade?

I know the power real shade is standard on UL and other packages.

Just wonder if the manual rear shade is a standard feature. I have seen many LS with Nav, ML sound but no power sunshade.

Are you riding around with passengers in the back seat all the back time or are too cheap to the tint the rear glass? Why is the shade always up?

Yeah, standard on some packages, but no manual sunshade offered.

No, it's a safety issue...

my windows are tinted at 50% front and rear. i've always had my shade up in my previous cars and would prefer it to stay up. has nothing to do with being cheap. why are your always down?

I quite like the auto shade retraction feature. especially in the rain. My windows are tinted legally, and I use it for extra privacy,it's always up in my car unless the visibility is really bad. You probably could wire in a manual switch to override the factory retraction in reverse. cut power to it when you don't want it to retract by itself.
