Driver Door Not Locking 100% of the time
So as of the last two days, my driver door has not been lockign 100% of the time. If you are sitting in the car clicking the lock and unlock button, you will see the little tab(right under the handle)d attempting to lock and unlock. Looks like the servo might be going bad?
Anyone have an experience with this? How did you fix it? cost? DIY job? etc.
I would greatly appreciate any info you can provide for me!
(on a side note: i was surprised at how "smart" the car was. It new the lock was malfunctioning. Despite all other locks funtioning like normal, and this attempting to close, the smartkey/car woudl not beep to show that it was locked. Either by hand FOB or by smart key button on the door handle!)

anyone else have any first hand experience with this?
I have done the searches and found that the actuator may need to be replaced. No one ever followed through with how it was fixed, cost, etc.

I had the same with my 2003 LS430 and the dealer quoted me ~450.00 to fix. Fortunately they covered it under the extended warranty. But sadly, the passenger side has now taken up the same trouble and the warranty is long gone. I'm wondering if spraying some silicon in there might help it or if it would make it worse. Any feedback?

if you can DIY
do a search for "door lock actuator".
it's basically buying a cheap motor on line and replacing that into the oem unit themselves for around $10
here it is:
