I totally agree with this. Even at this point, I wouldn't want a Lexus NAV older than a Gen 5... The resolution on a Gen 4 screen makes it obsolete already.

Also, I plan to keep my LS430 for a long time, so in my case, the fewer expensive electronic parts there are to fail the better. The air suspension vehicles are the same way. They're very expensive to repair and they tend to have problems when they age. If you continually flip your cars, it's not an issue.

About 1 yr ago, one could get a CPO 05 LS w/ nav with around 40K mi for around $26K. Figure depreciation is about $4K/yr at this point, so a no-nav 05 should go for around $21-22K. The price difference in miles doesn't make much of a difference (maybe a grand between 35K and 50K mi), unless it's a really low mileage car, like 20K miles.
how long did it take u to find the right car?
seems that most everyone is selling the type of car i want for 25k+.
the best deal i ever saw in my 2weeks of search so far was a local lady who had 04 48K miles, ML pack, for $21.5 (i was gonna go see it next day and someone just bought it same day when i called her).

i have seen some 18-19k ones from shady dealers but when i went to see them, they were all beat up.
its just hard to find 04-05 with low mileage and pristine condition with loaded options in low $20Ks.
im beginning to think that i may not see such a deal for months.
i got about 2months timeframe before i really need to find one for them.

It can easily take a couple of months to find the right car -patience is key. Of course the right car could be the first one you see if you get lucky. But not likely. If you are prepared to put in the effort to search hard and if you are patient enough and don't give up, you can find an excellent low mile car at a fair price. But be aware that they are not easy to come by but they do exist and come on the market on a regular basis and get snapped up by the educated buyer. The 50k+ slightly grimy/beat up average cars are plentiful and on every dealer lot.

20-24 depending on condition and if CPO or not? just a wild guess - look at autotrader edmunds to see $ selling ranges across the country on 04s with less that 30 k

its not CPO. they are anything below 25k but more mileage.

That was a CUSTOM Luxury package!

On ebay, I know it says you were outbid by $100, but you truely don't know what that other bidders maximum high bid was. It could have been $28,000. Ebay just automatically increases/increments the other persons bid by $100 (in this case). I think it's called Proxy Bidding. So yea...it SEEMS you were outbid by $100, but we really don't know how what the winning bidders maximum price was....

Did I mention CUSTOM luxury package?...lol.
