05 LX 430 with 11,500 on it is mine now
Hi Folks,
Well the 05 LX 430 with 11,500 miles on it is in my garage with about 12,000 miles on it now.
When I was originally dealing on the car I thought it was Crystal White. Turned out not to be the case. It is Moonlight Pearl and I actually like it better than the Crystal White.
This car did come from Walnut Creek Ford as someone mentioned in an earlier reply to one of my posts. I flew up there Wednesday to pick it up and drive it home.
The car has a couple of very minor flaws on the back bumper that I will be getting taken care of. Other than that the car is beautiful. Moonlight Pearl with 18” Lexus 5 spoke chrome wheels. It has the modern luxury package and the keyless ignition.
One problem I noted on you 390-mile drive home the car just refuses to go the speed limit. The max on the interstates here in the People’s Republic of California is 70 MPH. This car will not go that slow. It wants to run 75-90 and if I’m not on the cruise it does just that. I don’t realize how fast I am going until I look at the speedo. I probably drove 75-85 most of the way back on the interstate and still got a little over 26 MPG.
As it stands now I couldn’t be much happier with the car.
I do want to put and auxiliary input in it to play my I-pod thru the ML stereo. Do you folks have any suggestions as to what would be a plug and play adapter? If you have a suggestion a make and model number would be appreciated and a source if you know of one.
I am going to forget about trying to override the 130 MPH computer control. Where the hell could I drive it even at 130?
I also want to “unlock” the nav system and phone so it can be used by my passenger while I am driving. I read the posts about the lockpick but I am a bit confused as to which version to buy. I also have seen the posts about modifying the wiring to get the same result. What’s the best way to go?
I will post pictures of the car some time next week after I find my digital camera.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions you may have.
Bill

Congratulations. Looks like a fine car. If you have the time and inclination, I'd be interested in hearing how you went about successfully buying the car long distance. That's a process that I see in my future.

Congrats....that's very low miles. I have a 05 too but it had 57k miles and now it's 60k. I drove 3k miles within 2 weeks.
I haven't done any override on the Nav except the secret screen override but it resets everytime the engine shuts off.
The iPod/iPhone plug I got was from Ebay for $20. It's an FM transmitter plus it charges my iPhone. It's not the best choice as it can get interupted from different radio frequencies

OOPs, It’s an LS 430. Thanks. The Moonlight Pearl has what appears to me a slight hint of gray. Very subtle for sure. I was concerned before I saw the car in person it was going to have a beige tint to it. Not really liking the beige tint I was beyond relived when I saw the car in person. I really like the Moonlight Pearl. It has a little richer feel to it. Given the choice of Crystal White or Moonlight Pearl I would take the MP every time.
