Default It's the fault of this forum

The wife bought her 2000 CPO ES300 in 2002. Meticulously maintained since then (108,500 miles, now). All documented service/maintenance by local Lexus/Toyota dealers. Perfectly good car that, she said "would last her for years to come".

Then, "I" got on this forum, about 2 weeks ago, and started reading about the LS 430. Took the wife's ES300 to the Toyota dealer for an oil change. Walking around the dealer's lot, while waiting for the oil change----lo and behold, a 2005 LS 430 (flint mica/ash)---57,000 miles, clean CarFax, Modern L Pkg. with the 18" chrome wheels---priced at $26,900. Came home and found the car on their website. Researched the service records on My Lexus. Then about 2-3 days later, I checked the dealer's website----price had dropped to $23,000.

We couldn't pass it up. Bought it yesterday with a 36/36,000 Lexus extended warranty and it's now parked in our garage. The wife is thrilled with her "new" car. Now, I've got to get the ES300 sold. Didn't want to "give" it to the dealer.

It's this forum's fault!

A CPO 2005 LS430 for 23 K is a wise purchase. The ES is a great car but in my opinion the LS is a step up in luxury, style and safety. You will also likely get a good price for your used ES, so the delta $ cost to get into the 2005 LS will be relatively small. Good looking car! Smart deal.

Congrats on the new purchase. Be careful because flint mica is the fastest color.

BTW, tell your dealer that he misspelled my name on the commission check, but the bank cashed it anyway.

I had been chilling in the RX forum for quite some time because that's all I had. Then when I was in the market for potentially a LS in '08, read up on the LS forum and WHAM !!! I couldn't be swayed any other way but to get the LS.

Have not regretted it a single day. Every time I step in to drive the thing (when my wife doesn't have it) it's all smiles. Sometimes it's actually spooky, feels like I'm driving a hearse...

My wife doesn't drive. The vehicles are all mine.
