Well, after looking for a long time and trying to decide between a Murano Sl, a Cadillac DTS, and the Lexus, I finally was able to get a 2004 CPO Lexus LS/ Moonlight Pearl and Ivory premium for around 21,500. All of the other CPO Lexus's that I saw had more miles or were at least several thousand more than this so when they reduced the price, I jumped on it The car had 56,000 miles but was in pristine condition with new brakes and nearly new tires, serviced regularly at the dealership that i bought it from and already had the 60k service done and hard to tell from new. What amazed me was that it was only about 2 thousand dollars more than an 06 Murano with a better warranty than Nissan and did I mention, 4.5% financing through Lexus. Now the Murano was a nice car but it certainly doesn't compare to a Lexus. And the service that i got from the dealership was just top notch.
I know many like the ML and the UL LS430's but for me, I like to keep it cheap and simple and just couldn't justify paying $2500 for navigation and a higher luxury package. I know I'm in the minority but this works for me.
Look forward to picking your brains with questions that I'm sure will come up.

Not another base model! If you really shopped around and knew how to negotiate, that $2500 would turn in $0. Plus you will get it back when you go to sell it. Its not lost money. Most buyers want options on used cars, not base models. They will pass over your car for one with options.

Congrats on the new LS. I personally am a very big fan of the Premium "base" model myself. I would pay more for a Premium 2004 LS than for an LS with soon to be obsolete 2004 Nav system. But I have always preferred old school elegance over gimcracks and gewgaws : ) Others have different taste and perspective and thats OK with me.
Actually all the LS versions are excellent and I am glad we have options for those who have different but perfectly valid tastes - like the man said - different strokes for different folks.

Looking at autotrader.com the cheapest that you described was approx. $23,950 in Palm Beach, Florida which is about 1100 miles away from where I live. That car like mine was also reduced so I don't think that they would come down another $2,500.
Thanks anyways for your comment.

Congratulations to the new owners here! I'm sure you're going to love the car. I too agree with the thinking of getting whatever options that YOU want on the car, whether it's base, UL, or anything in between. If you yourself (or your family members who may also use the car) have no interest in a particular option, it's just as well (if not better in the long run) not to get it and pay up for it, IMO.
