Smile transporting car cross country

Moving from NJ to Arizona next month and am looking for a company to transport my wife's car as she is flying out. Anyone have any recommendations for car carriers based on personal experience??? As a side note, I'll be making the drive in my 2002 LS430 with my boston terrier. Should be a real experience!

Not sure if you are using a moving company or not...what about putting the car into the moving truck? When I moved between Chicago and Atlanta years ago, Beacons drove one of cars up a set of ramps and into the back of the moving truck that had been packed with our household goods, furniture, etc.

The moving company I'm using will take it but their price is $1500. Way too high compared to car transporters.

The dealer located transport from Washington state to Michigan for $900 open carrier, $1500 closed. I saw other closed carriers for about $1000, but reliability was unknown.

In the Corvette world, Reliable was spoken of highly, but not inexpensively.

If it's a car you value, use an enclosed car carrier to protect the vehicle from the elements and rock chips. I've used Horseless Carriage before, very satisfied.

I was about to say that. I'd drive that thing across the country for you and wash it.

The drive away option - have someone you trust drive it and pay them expenses plus a one way ticket home...still could run about $800 for that option is my guess. Minimal approx costs assuming only 1 night hotel and two 10 hour driving days - $200 gas, $100 hotel, $100 meals, $350 one way plane ticket back, taxis $50 - plus wear and tear on the LS. Maybe not a good option when you add in 1400 miles wear and tear.
