Default Moonroof Problem

I have a 2001 LS430 and out of nowhere tonight the moonroof opened.

It would not close despite many attemps. Then finally it did close, but only for a short period of time then it opened up again.

I couldn't get it to go back closed at all.

Later on the way home I attempted yet again, and it went part way closed, then started to close again. So I hit the switch and it stopped about 1/4th of the way closed. I pressed the button again and got it about 3/4 of the way closed, but it still is open.

I checked the tracks and saw nothing. Any help or advice?

Thanks.

Being a 2001 and do you use your moonroof alot? I would say it's a bad control button to be causing this. Secondly, how is your battery? I've heard of weak batteries causing some crazy electrical problems and gremlins to creep up.

I don't use the moonroof much at all. I don't even recall the last time I used it before this all happened.

The battery is also less than 6 months old, so I don't think that is the issue either.
