Default Does leaving an iPod hooked up to SL2i run down the battery?

Just had SL2i installed. I left the iPod plugged into the car, and didn't drive the car for a few days, and the battery was dead! I called the lexus dealership that installed the Vais Tech, and they said that if the key was off then the iPod would NOT drain the battery, ... but something had too and thats the only thing that was new on the car. Everything else is completely stock. Also had the charging system tested and it's fine.

I don't think SL2i will drain the battery myself, you can pm Vaistech rep here for confirmation. Battery may charge fine but may not hold charge if old or weak as I'm remember correctly, give more info.

optima batteries are notorious for failing. i would question the battery. i leave my 2 chargers plugged in for 2 or 3 days and come back to the car and starts right up no hiccups.

Given the extremely low current draw (500mA), you should be able to run an ipod with a fully charged 12v auto battery for about 2-3 months.

I installed a SL2i in my car last June. I only take the iPod Classic out when I want to add new music. Otherwise it just sits in the glovebox untouched. Absolutely no battery failure problem.

I can't believe the SL2i and/or iPod is your problem.
