Samrt key disappear in the car
But it is in the car because I can start the car and drive around no problem just can't lock it. I checked every small hole and can't find it. Anyone recommend anything? Car is LS430 2005.
How hard is to remove both front seats, I am affraid to take it to dealer because they will charge me too much~~~

Front seats are easy, just 4 bolts each, easily accessible. They are at the 4 corners; use the seat adjusters to slide to and fro to gain access to all four.
I'd suggest remove 2, at the front, and loosen but don't remove the 2 at the rear. This way no chance of accidentally pulling too hard on the wiring between floor and seat. Then tip the seat backward; you will have very good look at the area under the seat.
REMEMBER: the seats have airbags in them; the more cautious among us would recommend disconnecting the battery cables after you have all four bolts loosened/removed, before tipping the seat.
As to trunk or underhood: the system knows the difference; it's really pretty smart.

Suggested places to look assuming is slipped out of your pocket:
- Space between seat and center console
- Between seat back and seat bottom
- Under left edge of driver's seat.
You may also have taken it out while driving and stashed it somewhere: coin drawer, drawer in center stack, sunglass holder in ceiling, drawers under seats.

If it is, it'll allow you to open it by pressing on the trunk button
this is where you can't really lock yourself out of the LS.

I had a similar occurrence once after picking the car up after servicing at the dealer. When I stopped I couldn't lock the door and I didn't have the key. Found that the key was wedged between the right driver cushion and the console. I have the UL and the little cushion on that side caused the key to be at the side rear of the seat.
Apparently it either fell out of the service tech pocket or it was left on the arm cushion and fell off. I could feel the key but I couldn't reach it well enough to extract it or move it so it would fall to an area where I could get it out. Had to drive back to the dealer and have them remove it.
They were somewhat embarrassed but quick to fix the problem.

My Cadillac's ashtray compartment has a gap thats exposed underneath the little door when the actual ashtray is removed. Stuff would fall down inside the center console. Perhaps the LS was designed similarly.
