Is it normal for the parking sensors to be faulty one day and work the next?

This has happened on several occasions now. My front driver's side sensors will go wack. Upon car startup, it'll beep and say "check sonar" and it'll indicate the driver's front. So I have to end up disabling the system because of the annoying beep. Then a couple days later as I test it, there's no errors.
I keep on scheduling appointments to get it taken look at, but by the time of the appointment, the problem has "gone away". If it's a bad sensor, I wanna get it taken care of before I'm out of warranty.

Something as littlle as bird poop,or wax build up can cause the sensors to act crazy. Just make sure there clean on and around them sensors. But i hav to say minds did that one day it was sittting in the hot summer sun.

I normally get that during the winter months when there's snow on the sensors. However on these occurrences I've cleaned off the area and still the problem is there. Like it was acting up today on my drive to the gym, so I shut it off again. I went to the gym for about 2 hours, came back out, tested the system, and everything was clear. It was acting up for like 2 days.

Tell you what I would do. Next time the sensor acts up get your cell phone out and take a picture of the display going off. Take that to the dealer and have them fix it under your warranty. Since i had a bad one I can tell you this..the sensors come prepainted to the color of your car..they are about 230 bucks each and it takes I believe about 1.3 hours to replace one. They have to take the back of the front bumper.

Sensor replacement is pretty iffy and really depends on the dealer. One dealer I went to said its a wear and tear item that "could" of been damage by rock being kicked up from cars in front and would not cover replacement. I went to another and they fix it under "good will". I have the Lexus Platinum extended coverage which usually covers everything and had to almost fight to get it fixed.
