Default Lexus Link Error Message

Lately have been periodically getting lexus link error message when starting car. Happens infrequently. Lexus dealer says its probably an issue with the lexus sattelite and not my system. anyone else experience this?

I'm a "newbie to lexus and even I know the answer to this question. Your lexus dealer doesn't know what they are talking about and I'm surprised that they did not tell you flat out that there is no Lexus link for the 430 any longer ever since they switched over to a digital system. Our cars had an analog based system. If I recall, Lexus was pulling the Lexus link equipment off the 430's some years back. I bought my car CPO and the lexus link was infact pulled. Hope this helps. I would try to have the dealer disconnect it for you at no charge. Hope this helps- Welcome to CL!

The local stealer charged me $100 to pull the Lexus Link to the 2001 I bought a year ago.

Yeah many of us experenced this problem. Theres a thread in the forum that shows you how to solve the problem if you dont wanna go to the stealers.

in my 2001 I found that reconnecting or crossing over the connector resulted in the radio speaker cutting out.

Just disconnecting the single connector first described worked just fine for me.

I jus did mines and all my link error msgs are gone, i actual like the "ur lexus link system is active" when the lady say it i jus hated when the guy says "system link error detected, please contact ur lexus dealer" like something is wrong with my car lol ohh well.....

I am going to Lexus for some work and also to install the latest DVD update for my nav. Shouldn't they be able to disconnect the Lexus Link at the same time they are installing the DVD?

The dealer took mine out and put a sunglass case in it's place free of charge.

I have the sunglass case there with the bottoms for the Lexus Link on the case. The Lexus Link is still giving me the verbal error message everytime I start the car.

The link needs to be disconnected....either by you or the stealer

I just changed the battery on my 2001 LS4430 and now I am getting the "links system error has been detected" message. Is there an easy way to disable this message?

Most dealers will do it for free. There was a campaign for this a while back. You may still be able to get it done if you ask nicely.
