Default Tail light Failure warning

Do anyone know how to get rid of the tail light failure warning. It came on ever since I installed LED tail lights (even with the resistors). My friend told me the same thing happen to his 02 M3 and he went to the dealer to get rid of it which cost him around $100. Has anyone tried this with their LS430?

Check if u plug up evrything right, also check ur third brake light to see if u hav a blown bulb, i jus installed the LED tails on my 02 UL and evrything works perfect....

This might sound stupid, but unless you want to load resistors to match the expected draw to quiet the system, you can just pull the bulb.

Everything is plug in right and everything is working just have the tail light warning light on. These are the 3rd sets of resistor that I tried and still the warning light is on.

maybe you need to disconnect everything then plug back in. Mines had a error when i first put them in so i just fliped wires around etc. and error was gone never came back. But sometimes all my bulbs dont come on for some reason. the exact same bulbs on each side,a mind of its own. Just keep messin with em,or get a new set goodluck

You need some high impedance resistors to simulate a load. This tricks the car into thinking the bulb is good. LEDs are diodes, and diodes have the property that the impedance is infinite when the applied voltage is below the bias or "knee" voltage (typically 0.7v bias), after which the impedance becomes near zero (infinite current flows). I would try to measure the impedance of the non-LED lamps, then solder a similar impedance resistor in parallel to the LED lamp input/output wires.
