Default YouZealand SS Kit vs Tanabe NF210

Ok Im not the most mechanically inclined guy around. There have been a lot of posts lately of people swapping to coilovers and changing out springs and things like that to improve handling on the 430.

What is the difference between the SS Kit and going with the Tanabe springs?

I'm looking to lower down the car 1" - 1.5" and have better handling but not lose any or only a minute bit of that pillow soft ride while driving and going over bumps. I have a regular 04 LS430.

the ss kit is only used for air suspension ls430 (ultra luxury)..you can use the tanabe springs to lower your ls430 but that "pillow" feel will be gone.

I thought you can use the SS kit to non-air suspensions as well.

yeah its either or, just that without changing the air susp you don't have many options to lower the car so air (ul) folks tend to get this mod primarily. non air folks have more options and this mod seems to be pretty rare in the states for some reason, not sure why.

if you only want the drop i vote for ss kit, if you want the drop plus some handling go with springs or coilovers,, i got the ss kit ready for shipping so let know if you want to go that route.

You can run the SS kit on any suspension set-up. I had one on my non-UL LS430. The ride won't change much, if at all.

If you feel you may want to go lower in the future, I'd say go with the SS kit. The SS kit is compadable with any suspension (coilovers, stock and air). You can add the SS kit and later install some springs, coilover. If you go with drop springs and later want to go coilover or air the drop springs are of no use to you.

So, with the SS kit AND coilovers, you have decent ride quality and a ride height that will allow you to lower the car through the pavement!!! ????
