Default Got an offer on some oem wheels. Opinions please!

Before today i was planning on buy new oem 18"s and primacys within about a month. I've made a post yesterday about my dilema and asked what steps i should take. Well today a friend of mine told me he was getting rid of his 04 UL for some reason i didn't ask and wanted to know do i need some tires. He has the original oem 18" wheels and a set of either pilots or primacys on them. I'm sure there is some wear on the tires but how much, i dont know. I have a set of replica 18" on my car currently which are starting to peel bad and one of the wheels is out of round. So is a swap of our wheels w/tires and giving him some cash a good thing to do. His Michelins are still covered under waranty but i haven't but will check out the condition of the rims. If it is a good idea, how much cash should i give him along with the swap or should i just make him an offer for the set without doing a swap. Help please!

Not to be rude but since he your friend after all so what bad about deal with him face to face over a beer or something. I think he nice enough to give you a head up so just be straight and if work out great otherwise have fun talk to old friend. Have a good Memorial Day weekend.

a set of used Primacys - maybe $150-200. Trade your wheels for OEM 18s - maybe $150-200.

I'd say anything from $300-$400 for the trade would be good. What $ loss will he take by having lesser tires and non OEM wheels on his trade car? - you need to at least pay that to make him whole in order to make the deal fair.

Something doesn't jive here. You say this dude is your friend and #1) You don't know why he's getting rid of his UL??? and #2) You don't know if they're Primacys or Pilots?

Is your "friend" trading in his UL or selling it outright, or don't you know the specifics of that either? It makes a huge difference. If he's trading it in to a dealer, they most likely won't care very much if the rims are OEM or replicas, especially if he's trading it in at a non-Lexus dealer.

How long has dude been your "friend?" If he's really a "friend" he will take the swap no questions asked. You can then offer him like $200 and this "friend" won't take your money...especially if he's trading it in to a non-Lexus dealer.

Sorry for posting with undertones of animosity but everything dealing with vehicles and my "friends" I know about. I'd know even MORE if my "friend" owned a LEXUS!!!
