Default Update my '04 Navi to current

I have a 2004 LS430 and want to know the cheapest way to update my navigation to current. How do I acquire the new DVD besides purchasing it from Lexus? Or is there such an option?

FWIW, many here resist the the temptation to update because by doing so, you lose the "override feature", which allows you to enter destinations, etc. while moving. Just wanted to mention that so you can take it into consideration before taking the plunge.

Wow! Now I am more interested in the override function of the navi. I never noticed I could override that. I hate having to pull over to punch stuff in. I can look it up in the manual or you can just show me the way...............please!!!!

True that, but you better hope that "new" italian restaurant or the "new" bypass route is on your "un-updated" version..lol

I'd personally take near 100% coverage of highways & destinations & phone #'s as possible, over the simple convenience of manipulating the destination while the vehicle is in motion. Don't you know where you're going before you put the car into drive?

Haha .... Listen - If I lived in Delaware, I'd ALWAYS have the updated version ! I've never been thru that state when they weren't doing road construction. You people there don't need new DVDs, you need updates in realtime from satellite video .....

Walt

PS: Some of us value using the NAV in motion so much, they put this in their sig:
"HEY TOYOTA! my OTHER car was a loaded 2002 Acura 3.5RL w/NAV that's usable IN MOTION!"

LOL!!! You were quick on that trigger there Walt! Beat me to it.

I KNEW someone would point that out. Given a CHOICE---i'd have BOTH (which my lovely Acura provided, thus my signature. When you HAVE something, then it's taken away as the LS430 did with the nav, it's really annoying..even more than the merging center lanes on the NJTP and flashing neon signs which say CONGESTION AHEAD..lol!!!!)...however when forced to have only ONE (updated or in motion), I'd no doubt take the updated version!
