Default front end shimy...shake over bumbs (04 UL)

The dealer says it is a wheel bent, but it really shows up on a curve and bumbs...shouldnt a rim issue be there all the time and not just on bumps?

some shaking at 70 mph..but mostly noticed when highway speed and going over road unsmoothness.

I am test driving this car today any help would be great.

could just be tire is not balanced. Swap it with the spare and call it a day.

Take the dealers word, dont chance it. Dont drive at high speeds sir/miss because you could cause an accident. I know it will cost a few dollars to repair but, not as much as it will cost if you have an accident due to the rims damage. The reason it is noticeable at high speed and on curbs and going over bumps doesnt matter as much as the issue is there.

Its like being sick with a disease, sometimes it goes by unnoticed until we do something physically to reveal it and only when we do certain things it is an issue. Same goes for the reasons your car shows signs at certain times and not others. A normally functioning car has no issues such as what your dealing with and the wheels are dangerous to play with and guess if somethings wrong. Any wheel/tires issues need to be addressed for your safety and others on the road as well.

No need to analyze further what you and the dealer already see is an issue. BE SAFE fellow member, not sorry later because you didnt just accept this is a issue that needs to be addressed, your safety could be at risk if driving on faulty wheels/tires. L.G.N.M

Hey thanks for the quick replys. I am going to put new rims on the car the dealer will do $22k(47K UL) without fixing the rim. or 22,600 with the rim. Tires are new. I just felt like it could be something else since I am new to airsuspenson. and the LS.

a failing air suspension will exhibit a few signs... 1) oily residue on the shock. Remove the wheel to take a look and see if there are signs of a leak. 2) have more body bounce, resulting in a side-to-side rocking motion when going over bumps. 3) squeaking noise is also a possibility, resulting in lack of good seal in the air components. Any of these signs and you're likely going to have to replace the air shock. That little component will cost you no less than $750 to replace, excluding labor.
