you dont buy these cars for fuel mileage. Drive it how you like and enjoy the car -- it may cost $3-$5 more per tank of fuel.

with my stock wheels on i could expect around 550 miles per tank before the light would come on. now with other wheels i barely get to 485 before my light comes on and occasionally 500 if i don't speed around.

this is about 70% highway though and not a lot of traffic or stop and go.

I dont drive very long distances in my LS and Ive noticed my MPG is really bad almost in the single digits. When on the freeway I get roughly 20 MPG. But since my daily commute is only 5 miles in stop and go traffic/street lights I see maybe 12 MPG.

As everyone states it depends on your driving style. Some people intentionally do hypermilling.
On an almost whole tank, I get about 450-500 miles highway, 400 city, and 325 city with ac blasting.

Agreed. It's nice to know what the car gets for mileage, but if one was concerned about gas and its prices, then we shouldn't be buying a 2ton V8 car.

Bigger heavier tires and wheels will affect gas mileage.

I'll be driving to Ohio next week. Will report back with average speed, MPG and how many miles I got on one tank.

Also you're right about keeping the rpm low and constant. 70's usually gives me the best mix of timely arrival and fuel savings.

I do almost all city driving and am realatively conservative at that. My last 5 fillups were between 13-16mpg.

I get around 15.6 around mostly city driving with some light freeway and about 330 to a tank. Although after my recent oil change 2 weeks ago, i noticed my mileage starting to go up. This oil change i used Mobil 1 5w30 fully synthetic. Maybe that has something to do with the increase?

Supposedly anything that reduces internal friction, like synthetic oil and lower viscosity oil make for less internal drag on the engine and therefore slighter higher gas mileage. Also properly inflated tires are key to better MPG.

And reduction of weight. Remove the full size spare & jack.
You can go as far as removing the back seats too

^^^^^^^ Objection the ideas of removing back seat unless replace with something else with better messaging skill . My car average about 360 miles when empty light is on with mixture of highway and city. Really enjoy the car and no complain at all .

Good point. I need to lose 30lbs - perhaps then I could keep my back seat : )

Interesting thought to remove the spare to reduce weight but what if you ever ended up needing to use it? Might be a moment LOL

You probably lost a few lbs on the car already when you removed that huge L from the grill
