I replaced the mirror / puddle lights without all the involved steps. I wouldn't recommend doing this in the super cold, however, so proceed at your own risk.

I was able to adjust the mirror to full left/right, and then remove the lower right/left screw behind the glass mirror assembly. Be warned that a typical screwdriver will be angled off the screw - take care not to strip the screwhead, or better yet, use a flex tip driver. With the two lower screws removed, there is just enough give that with a non-marking pry tool, the mirror assembly can be opened just enough to remove the lamp housing. With the lamp housing removed, change the bulb, and the reinstall. Replace the screws, and done. No broken mirror glass, no credit card/putty knife sliding, no broken tabs, etc.

Back from the archives. I have followed this thread and replaced my map, dome and door lights to LEDs so far.

Question: How does one get the cover off the rear courtesy lights?? I have tried for an hour. No luck.

I have a 2004 UL and it has the rear HVAC vents. The light also rotates left and right. I feel like I am about break it getting it off.
